GOTH IN THE CITY: Day Three: Ice Baths, Barefoot Dreams, and Haunted Tech
A Goth Bogan’s Journey Through 4km Walks, Gut Health Epiphanies, and Steele-Clad Resilience.
Day Three:
Today, I attempted to channel my inner warrior by walking barefoot on a 50-degree concrete path. The verdict? My feet are far from calloused enough to make this a full-time gig. So, in true Goth Bogan fashion, I slipped on my trusty Kmart thongs and marched on.
As someone whose dreams are typically nurtured in the comfort of a computer chair, a 4km walk was a marathon-level achievement. (Not entirely sure if I’m blending days here—time feels irrelevant. Who’s counting anyway?)
While listening to a gorgeous man serenade Corey Taylor, all while fermenting red cabbage (because why not?), I had an epiphany: Maybe there is a connection between gut health and depression. Perhaps all those new-age gurus on my YouTube algorithm weren’t entirely full of it. Sorry, spiritual influencers—my bad.
The Ice Bath Adventure
Day Three also marked my serious attempt at an ice bath. And by serious, I mean I forgot to take photos (and was stark naked, so #badluck #patreonmaybe #onlyfansjustkidding).
I managed to stay submerged for a solid three minutes, which felt like an eternity. My body immediately began hyperventilating, and James, the ice-bath coach extraordinaire, had to talk me down from the chaos. Once I regained control of my breathing and stopped mentally sparring with my own mortality, I focused on the shock.
Pain flooded my hands, like a million redbacks taking their revenge, while my chest burned bright red as my blood retreated toward my heart without so much as a polite "excuse me." But, weirdly enough, after I conquered the breathing, the pain became tolerable. I emerged feeling like a badass Australian Lzzy Hale—balls of Steele and all.
P.S. I slept like a rock that night.
Other Highlights
- Watched an Adam Sandler sci-fi thriller that was not funny at all. WTF, Adam?
- My tech setup (internet, phones, banks, Shopify) seems to be haunted by the ghost of Peter Steele, who’s probably chuckling while messing with my sanity. I spent so much time fixing tech issues that I now identify as an IT specialist. #TakingNewClients
Finally, with Outlook behaving and a functioning PC back in action, I’ve started tackling emails and will be processing orders starting Monday, the 13th.
Much love to you all,
Thank you again for giving me this time to repair.
